[.ca] A Little More Personal

Hmmmm?:
I was majorly dissapointed in Lindsay's second album. Her fist one was spectacular, well, at least compared to this one. "Confessions of a Broken Heart" was kinda nice, and i also sorta liked tracks 7, 8, and 12. But the rest is highly unimaginative. I'm a huge music lover and am open to many styles but quite honestly, I found this album boring. I was very amused when I heard Ms. Lohan's version of Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me". To put it lightly, she butchered it. And what should I say about her randition of Stevie Nicks' "On the Edge of Seventeen"? First, why would she put two covers on one cd, running out of ideas already? She just started this singing thing. Anyway it is supposed to be a pop/rock song and Lindsay pushed it over the edge to being a pop song. No one should sing this song except Stevie.(But part of me did like this song, weird, huh?) Anywho, I would not reccomend this cd, to any true music lovers. But if you do like Lindsay, get her first album, "Speak" it's quite a bit better than this one.

CONFESSIONS:
Lindsay's secound album was highly aclaimed by some, and the release of the track Confessions of a Broken Heart certainly gained attension from the media and fans. However having said this the hype of 'a little more personal RAW' certainly didnt earn Lindsay any new fans but may in fact have lost her some. The album is fresh new and dare i say ROCK!! When Lindsays first album SPEAK was released it was all very confusing and rushed but never the less gained sales of over 1 Million. The album stated Rock and Adult Material but was instead a mixture of Pop/R & B/Dance and maybe Pop Rock. Singles like Rumours and Over were both certainly different and confused fans and it was no shock that the album didnt stay on the charts nore spawn a third fourth single release. Back to 'a little more personal' Well firstly IT IS. Tracks like Confessions... Black Hole My Innocense If its alright and Fastlane all relate to Lindsay on an obvious level and are all personal and very true to her life. The album too me is a dramatic improvement of what i heard on SPEAK. She has finally chosen a genre stuck to it and created some damn good tracks. The crazyness of guitars and drums sooo loud its sometimes difficult to tell if its Lindsays voice thats so loud of just the music. Some would argue that the album maybe Overproduced, each track having a sometimes very loud chorus and weaker verses, this may be an attempt to enhance her voice and do what it does best SHOUT!! Im not critising Lindsay here, its obvious and no joke that her vocals are certainly not that of other stars, her voice is coarse, rough husky and loud and thats what i and fans love about her. The album is overall very mature and the music is of and older sound, if you heard this track in a big concert crowd and couldnt see Lindsay you would probably imagine a rough looking group who certainly didint have the image of a Hollywood It girl, or the A LIST celeb life. On this note i praise lindsay and hope that she only releases albums in the future which are like this and not trying to be something that shes not. Despite my some what negative and good review, Lindsays name, image, product and persona didnt transfer into Record Sales. This was a huge shock to me. How could someone so big have an album that welll frankly hasnt done that well at all on the BILLBOARD chart Debuting at Number #20. I could imagine the frenzy occuring in Tommy Matolas office, how such a hyped and people would think HIT album not do well at all baffels me. Her first release of SPEAK was slated so bad some would have been certain it would debut at Number #200, but instead at number #4. All i can hope is that Lindsay record company quickly shape up things and start a heavy promotion scedule making her work 20 hours a day seven days a week if thats what its going to take to get this album the recognition it needs. You only have to compare Lindsays efforts to that of arch enemy Hilary Duff, not only has the teen queen and now Big MUSIC STAR \oas much as some would like to deny we know its true\c Has done extremely well. With all the media hype surrounding the two girls and people always thinking Lindsay is more mature and stronger and is constantly out partying or seen with Nicole Richie this doesnt compare to Hilary Duffs record sales. Hilarys first album 'Metamorphosis' was given bad reviews and she was teased for even thinking she could sing, this later turned into a Number #1 Album and 6 Million Copies sold. Album number two titled Hilary Duff charted at #2 with sales of 4 Million. And her latest MOST WANTED released mere weeks before Lindsays Charted at Number #1 selling 289 500 COPIES compared to Lindsays 83 000. Now the album tracks: 1. Confessions... 5 STARS 2. Black Hole 5 STARS this should be the second video if her lable had any sence. 3. I live for the day : 3 Stars Belive it or not Lindsay Lohans record company have chosen this to be the next release, they certainly want this album to flop its for sure. 4. I want you to want me: 3 Stars very teenagy and whiny not a fav 5. MY INNOCENSE 5 STARS this should also be a Video and a Third Release. 6. A little more personal the title track not great 4 STARS a possible release but theres better the lyrics are good. 7. Its its Alright, Possible the Best Track 5 STARS i am hoping for a video in 2006 for this track, its a guarentee hit. 8. If you were Me: 4 Stars sounds a little like kelly clarksons Ms Independent, very pop. 9. FASTLANE: 4 STARS all about HollyWood with some contridicting lyrics she says not to wish upon a star and want to live in the celeb world yet she says in verse 2 how she loves it...Confusing but good. 10. Edge of Seventeen: dont quite understand the title and the pint but 5 stars Excelently produced and a possible video. 11. Who Loves You: 3 Stars Verry popy and dancy a bit cheesy. 12. A Beauutiful Life 5 STARS Excellent track should be released. Overall this would be the best line up for you to listen to and which should be released on TV as videos: 1. Confessiopns... 2. Black Hole 3. My Innocense 4. If its Altright 5. Fastlane 6. Edge of Seventeen 7. A Beautiful Life. If Lohans record company had any sense these tracks would be released as videos and promoted like crazy..all i can say is Good luck Lindsay and watch out 2006 Is going to be harder than ever with Hilarys 4 Movies comming out and BRAND NEW ALBUM!!

A truly great album!:
I just bought this album yesterday, and it truly is great. Much better than her first album. Lindsay herself penned almost all of the lyrics. It's so honest and (sorry for stating the obvious) personal. You can tell that she has matured a lot, just from listening to this cd. Some artists seem to feel that they have to sugar-coat things and pretend everything's perfect, but Lindsay proves in this album that she's not afraid to voice her opinions and say what she really feels. All of the songs on here really are great, and you're definitely missing out if you don't buy it!

A bit cliche'd...:
So Lindsay Lohan came out with her sophomore album...which seems rushed. This isn't surprising though, since it's only been about a year since her debut album was released. Most of the songs sound the same... there are too many fillers on this album so nothing particularly stands out on this album Here's a song-by-song thing according to me...after the "- -"s is what I would have done if i made the album... "Confessions of a Broken Heart" had SO much potential of being a good song...just from the title alone. Sadly, she had to wreck it with her shallow lyrics. The song, which is supposed to be about her dad leaving and the emotional trauma has great potential of being a good song... But she should've practiced a bit more with her song writing skills, and not release the first song she ever wrote. Like seriously, listen to the chorus. She's repeating the same thing "DAUGHTER TO FATHER DAUGHTER TO FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" its like "SHUT UP!!" - - Not even worth to be a B-side "Black Hole" is a decent song, thinking about past relationships. It makes your head bop and is very catchy. - -Good, would have made the final cut "I Live For The Day" doesn't stand out much, as this and Black Hole sound almost identical. It is catchy - - Final Cut "I Want You To Want Me" is a cover of Cheap Trick's song...everyone's remade it...this is just another one to add. It sounds almost exactly as Letter to Cleo's version of this song. - - Would be a B-side for her next cliche'd movie "My Innocence" basicalyl just as bad as Confessions of a broken heart - - FILLER "A Little More Personal" is an alright attempt, the talkign at the beginning might make u go "WTF!?" when you first hear it. - Final Cut "If It's Alright" sappy love song, it's a good one for this album - Final Cut "If You Were Me" kind of the same as above...but a filler track - - FILLER "Fastlane" Filler - - FILLER "Edge of 17" Ok, this song i was impressed with. It's a cover of Stevie Nick's song....and surprisingly Lindsay does an awesome job at remaking this song. Her raspy/screaming voice suits it. - - Final Cut "Who Loves You" sounds like she's having an orgasm FILLER - FILLER "A Beautiful Life" the soft-acoustic closure that re-appears on every one of these blonde pop-tarts cds... Ashlee Simpson's "Undiscovered" Hilary Duff's "Last Song" this one is just like those ones...but i give the other two a bit more credit. - - Final Cut Overall, this cd has some decent tunes, but it had way too many fillers. They should have taken their time instead of rushing this album and made a bit more quality songs
