Selling out or growing up?: Anybody who knows Lostprophets, knows that FSOP (Fake Sound of Progress) blows your mind. It's energy is raw, fresh, in your face and it was awesome. Start Something, to hardcore fans of FSOP was a bit of a let down. It was one of those albums, while they're songs were a bit more constructed and didn't have so much of that raw energy still grew on you like nothing else and you loved it. Liberation Transmission... I myself cannot say whether Lostprophets is just selling out or growing musically. All of that energy is gone pretty much, and what we have is mainstream, almost predictable music. I loved Lostprophets because they were fresh, and their music wasn't common. Liberation Transmission is definately softer, and has a more pop punk feel to it. Which makes me throw up in my mouth a bit. While the album is still good musically, I feel coming from Lostprophets it could've been a lot better. It feels like they didn't try. It feels like Bob Rock made them listen to Sum 41 and My Chemical Romance for hours on end until they began playing like them. I love Ian Watkins, and while his voice will always be lovely, and there's always an unforgettable drum solo somewhere.. I feel this album could've been so much better.
Different But still Good: Ok yeah soo ive finally been waiting to hear this album for a long time, and i fineally got to heat it and......all i can say is that it's different. I'ts hard to explain it's like lost prophets meets franz ferdinind, meets afi (sing the sorrow). First off this cd has no more screaming, thus it makes the cd more mellow but it still has addittude and a lot of it. I only gave this cd 3 stars so far because it might take some ppl awhile to get into it but the more i listen to it the more i like it so deffinatly pick up this new cd.
Solid Effort: I have been a fan of Lostprophets since the FSOP era along with a few of my friends. Most Lostprophets fans that I know are disappointed with this album, but I personally enjoy it a lot. Some of the pop-punk comparisons may be true (although I don't 100% agree), but the sound is still there, the solid drumming is in place and Ian continues to develop as a singer. I think 3 stars is a reasonable rating since there is nothing over-the-top about this album to warrant a higher rating, but I do very much enjoy Liberation Transmission nonetheless.
SWEET ALBUM!!! A MUST BUY: I definately think that this is the lostprophets' best effort yet. i agree with the last reviewer, it like lostprophets meets franz fernidad. BUT there is still lots their signature "screaming in tune" (as i like to call it:) ) there isnt as much as there was in the fake sound of progress, but about the same amount as Start Something. the album isnt as thrashy as their previous albums, but the songs present an unequivicol listening experience.
Lostprophets has done it again: although this album is not as heavy as the other 2, it still leaves an impression to listeners. Many complain that lostprophets has gone too poppish but no, it's still good. ian's vocals still rock. This album will definitely not disappoint.
