From Amazon.com: There's no shortage of anger on Exit Wounds. Even when the backdrop suggests a lazy dance-out, the war of the words comes screeching forth. Outsiderz 4 Life lay down a placid rhythm track and then expletives fly. Lady Luck featuring Redman quote the Beastie Boys' "Hey Ladies" and turn it on its head with a 150-mile-per-hour rap. The album's real star, however, is obviously Yonkers-bred DMX, who leads off the album with an attack on Bill Withers's "Ain't No Sunshine" with expected ferocity and is featured with Big Stan on the Casio-keyboard-stuttering drive of "Walk with Me." Previous DMX collaborators the Lox shade things ominously for the noir-ish "Bust Your Gun." Queensbridge housing project's finest Nas keeps it raw with the appropriately titled "Gangsta Tears." Only Playa, hidden deep in the middle--sandwiched between Mack 10 and the truly beat-spastic Drag On--offer a conciliatory track with the romantically tinged "Incense Burning." It's so out of place, the effect is comical. How did these smoothies sneak past these gangstas, huh? --Rob O'Connor
keep it real...: This is a dope soundtrack mixed with all types of music to hit the mass. Being a producer on the soundtrack might make me a little biased, but it's a tight album. I like the whole album, but the ones that stand out in my mind are Nas, Trick Daddy, Timbaland, and Mack 10...I'm a soulful person so I like tracks that take you there. The hip hop is there...but the ghetto trax are the one's...so if u like it hot, you gotta get this 1. check out #1,2,3,4,5,11, and the rest is cool 2...
Wasn't bad: I recently bought this cd, it was pretty good, some songs were crap some were good, like DMX's "Ain't no Sunshine", which is one of my favourites on this soundtrack. Mostly it has a bunch of great rappers, rapping guys and swearing. I thought it was good but not the best, but if your into the whole rap thing like me which i like as well go for it.
The Best Soundtrack for a Awesome movie: Ok. Here we go. When I heard DMX's first single "Aint No Sunshine" for the first time, I was really upset. I was upset because I thought the song \ostunk\c and I hoped the song wasn't going to be on his new album (which comes out late May-early June). Then I heard the song more and more, and I was like damn, this song is actually pretty good. All in all that song is one of my favorite songs. Then I looked up the soundtrack to see who else is on the soundtrack (expecting an all DMX soundtrack or a soundtrack that didn't exist). When I looked at the track listing I started to think to myself that this soundtrack is going to awesome. And guess what??? I was right this soundtrack is tight. My favorite songs on this cd are: Trick Daddy and Trina, Project Pat, all DMX songs, Drag-on, and many more. Basically all of the songs are my favorite. If you haven't got this cd yet go get it right now. Log off the web and go to the closest record store and buy it now. After you buy the cd go buy tickets at your local movie theatre to go and see the movie if you haven't seen it yet.
Stereotypical, boring soundtrack to a bad movie: Remember when a bunch of black guys swearing used to be enough to catch us off guard and get us to pay attention? Well it really isn't anymore... who would've thought, gangsta rap has gotten REALLY boring. Whether it's the barking style of DMX or the flat out repugnant "artists" known as Cash Money Records, hardcore rap hasn't sounded worse. The artists that sell the most in hip hop (Tupac, Eminem) are ones that are actually saying things that shock us, rather than simply saying shocking, vulgar things. This CD should be used as the tombstone for hip hop which is clearly by any indication on its deathbed. If you think this CD is worth more than 1 star, you REALLY need to go back and hear what hip hop sounded like a few years ago. This CD is god-awful and serves a better purpose as a frisbee.
I liked it: I was surprised that this soundtrack was as good as it was. I had to get the cd just because i am a huge DMX fan. Im glad i got this cd because i like almost all of the songs on here. The best songs on the cd are followed. 1-Aint no Sunshine-DMX(had to put this song on cause it has X), 2-State to State-Ja Rule( i liked this song because it had a good beat and Rule was in it), 5-Party-Timberland(i was really surprised with this song, because i havent liked anything Timberland has done but this song was tight.), 8-Walk With Me-Big Stan(another Dark Man X song), 11-Steady Grinding-Mack 10 & Cashmoney (great song, great beat, great lyrics, and great rappers), 13-Off Da Chain-Drag On(I think this is my favorite track on the cd, Drag On is so much better then people think.) All of the other tracks are good too, but i dont really like R & B as much as rap but over all this cd was good.
