Pretty much fantasy but interesting: This movie has high production values and is interesting. It is however, based on logical fallacies in abundance. The whole theory hinges on a single description of a time when darkness covered Egypt written on a piece of stone that was not made available byt he Egyptian government to the filmmaker. He bases his theory on a recording of the content made in the 1940s. He goes on from each assumption to another without a preponderance of evidence and on highly circumstantial evidence that wouldn't stand up in any court, not even on television. He intimates that the Egyptian government is involved in a cover up of certain evidence because they fear modern Israel making claims on their territory. What utter silliness! Not one scholar agrees with his theory and he makes so many sweeping generalizations and snap judgements that even the children in my senior history class were gasping and laughing at the enormous leaps in logic and flimsy evidence. One cannot put forward an argument that the Hebrews were the Hyksos and that the Exodus took place in 1550 BCE on such shaky clues. All of his so called "amazing discoveries" can be readily explained by a myriad of other possibilities, all of which are more logically deduced. However, it is a great teaching tool for bias and lofical fallacies for any teacher of Religion or Ancient History. Otherwise, give it a miss.
Liberal Naturalism with impossible arguments: This movie tries to explain away the Exodus by claiming Naturalism. The Blood Water was really just a gas leak, and the darkness was really just an ash cloud. Obviously there is no belief in the Supernatural here, or to directly quote this movie "Nobody has been able to offer a plausible scientific explanation....until now". For a better look at the Exodus try "The Search for the Real Mt. Sinai" or "The Exodus Revealed" both available on DVD.
