[.ca] Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter, Book 10)

Felt Unfinished:
I have been reading the DH stories just recently and have really enjoyed the others in the series. This book, however, has left me disappointed and confused. I was almost done with the book when I realised I was waiting for the story to get good. The relationship between Ravyn and Susan just had no oomph. It just happened without any real reader participation. I just did not feel connected with the charaters like I have in the other DH books. This book felt rushed and incomplete. As I have just started this series recently and have purchased many of the next ones, I am hoping this book is a fluke and not a peek of what is to come.

a different happy ending:
I just finished the book last night and have to say that it was refreshingly different. I do want the main characters to get together, but sometimes it just feels as if getting their soul back and married is the only ending possible. This book shows finally that the Dark-Hunter/Were Hunter loves his job just as much as he loves his mate and is willing to find a compromise. Makes it more "realistic" for me. I also like that the heroine stays consistently allergic - I was afraid Love would somehow magically take care of it. All in all, I think this is a quirky romance, it somehow reminds me of Kyrian's story a bit. The beginning may be a bit hasty but it finds a good pace in the rest of the book.

Terrible:
I bought this book because it was 4.99 for the hard back and this series seemed very popular. This is basically a romance novel (and not a very good one) hidden in supposed fantasy fiction. There are so many flaws it's not worth the time to list them, and the writing is flat to say the least. Don't waste your time.

Mixed Feelings:
I have to say, I was unhappy on this one as well, I'm a avid SK fan, but this story was not only rushed, but it wasn't put together right. I agree with the previous reviewer, Cael and Amr should have had their own book, there was more about them in this story than Rav, and Sus. The begining was wrong to start with, her friends dying the way they did wasn't believable. The humans in many of her rushed books are being portrayed as idiots, I can believe them getting together with the daimons, some people may believe they can give everlasting life, but really after they are witness to the destruction and happen to still stick around, then it's just wrong. To cut this review off, I have to say I wasn't happy about this book, but, being a fan, I will read her books, even the crappy ones. ~Unhappy~

Amazing!:
I've playing catch up! I read this the beginning of October. This was an amazing book! Susan is a reporter. She works for a paranormal magazine. She doesn't like it but it pays the bills. Her good friend Angie, that's a vet, asks her to stop in at the animal shelter to talk to her husband who's a cop. They use a cat that's in the shelter as cover. Susan is highly allergic. She ends up taking the cat home to complete the cover story. When she gets the cat home he morphs into a large, naked man on her living room floor. She immediately thinks it's a hoax setup by her boss. Ravyn is anything but a hoax. He's a Dark Hunter. He used to be a were-hunter but no longer. They are immediately attacked by Striker's men. They run away from the men. They retreat to a safe house but it's also attacked soon. They are forced to retreat to the were-hunter sanctuary, which is run by Ravyn's family that has disowned him. But they can't turn them away; it's agaisnt the law to turn away those in need. Susan cares for Ravyn in a room in the basement. He was hit with a trank and is acting all weird. Once he recovers they work together to figure out what exactly the daimons are planning, which is to take over Seattle completely by killing the Dark Hunters off one by one. Susan and Ravyn start to fall for each other. It really is a lovely romance that sprouts between them. A great read! 10/10!
