Yeah, it's smelly, but it's good for your cat and the enviornment...: First, let me state that I don't smell any difference between this standard variety of World's Best litter and the "extra strength" one. They add some kind of plant protein to the "extra strength" one, but both litters are very lacking in odor control. Either that, or my cat takes extremely smelly poops. However, if you don't mind the lack of odor control, this litter is great. It's just ground up corn. You can probably eat it if you had to, with GREAT DEPRESSION 2 coming (joking). But really, corn litter is better for the environment than strip mining it for clay litter. Since it's just corn, it's completely safe and healthy for your cat as well. Sometimes the urine clumps break apart. My cat loves to dig into this litter and kick it all over the place and it's annoying to sweep up off the floor. And yeah, it tracks. I see little yellow paw prints on the carpet sometimes. But I care about my cat's health and that's why I use this litter. Plus, he seems to like it. Though, to be fair, any litter I've tried with him in the past he's used without being fussy.
It is the best!: We used to use crystals but still had oder and had to change out the box once a week; also, the crystals would get all over the house and hurt (bare feet) or crush (shoes). Since this litter clumps so well, all of the smell gets flushed down the toilet (very flushable) and we only expect to change out the whole box but once a month (just add a little every day). Also, does not track on our cat's feet either; just a little near the box. Cats seem to like it too... I have read the review that offers concerns about flushing... I have been using this litter for over 2 months; flushing is not a problem. Key is to let the clumps stand in the bowl for a few seconds before flushing; the clumps will then disintegrate when you flush. Only possible problem might be the toilets that don't really have much bowl water; but I wouldn't want one of those anyway...
Did not like this liter: First off, the liter was all over the shipping box when it arrived. I had to scoop it out and it was a mess. It was no better than many other products I have used over the years. I was very dissappointed that Amazon did not replace the bag that was broken as I wrote immediately that it had arrived damaged and no responce at all. I would not buy it again as there are just really good products at the local stores. It did not control odor like some others and that is paramount for cat owners.
Not the best: I decided to give this litter a shot based upon other reviews. So far I'm not overly impressed with this litter because of its poor odor control and poor clumping, as it just did not hold up well to the needs of my 2 cats. This litter was also pretty dusty as well, even more so than regular litters. I'm afraid I will stick with my regular clumping clay litter.
Excellent Cat Litter: I was having problems with my cats ingesting the clay based litters and was looking for an alternative. I spent months and months trying different cat litters before settling on World's Best Cat Litter. Yes, there can be issues with odor control, but that is only a problem if your cat is the type that doesn't bury their business. This litter clumps better than clay based litter and is far less dusty. I've noticed a lot less little paw prints on the furniture, since I made the switch. The clumping power of this litter is so good, that if you are very tidy about scooping (which I am), you only need to do a complete litter change every 3-4 months! I scoop out used litter and replace it with fresh litter, twice daily, and the boxes stay clean for months (and I have 3 cats). I've tried both the original formula and the Extra Strength (multicat) formula and can tell you that there is no difference. If anything the Extra Strength formula tends to be a bit more dusty than the original formula.
