Let it shine...\sm/: Ever sence my friend introduced me to Carpathian Forest via there 'Defending the throne of evil' album, I just cant stop listening to then entrasing arrangments of classic black metal, with a twist of progressive and orchestral elements (but these are not overdone). This band is bringing much progression and growth to todays 'real' black metal genre. So if your looking for the most exiting thing in black metal today, look no further than carpathian forest!, this is a great album worth your time. \sm/
Leaning towards growth: The first time I heard the songs on this cd, I was absolutely blown away. I am a very avid black metal fan and this is like nothing i've heard. Of course, you do have your blast beats now an than like a lot of other black metal but you can tell that this is the album that they start to lean towards growth. Fans of bands such as Burzum, Darkthrone, or even possibly Mortiis (suprisingly, at least I believe) will definetly enjoy this. If you were comparing Burzum albums, you could say it's Daudi Baldrs meets Det Som Engang Var. The last track is especially interesting. It is very atmospheric and is definetly a must listen to. One of the greater albums before Nordavind left.
