This album's bookends--the title song and "bonus" track, "Lowlife (Living the Highlife)"--demonstrate all this irreconcilable nonsense in no uncertain terms, but all his polar wobbling is at least stabilized by a firm commitment to southern-styled rock, tinged at times with gospel, blues, a lingering need to rap ("Sugar"), and a rare, soul-fed instrumental jambalaya ("New Orleans"). Unexpected!:
This is the best rock record of 2007! This is a great blend of Bob Seger, Aerosmith, Skynyrd, AC/DC, Outlaw Country etc. Kid Rock wears his influences on his sleave, and I gotta say, it really works. This is a great album!!

Appealing to the Masses:
You know how some girls like the bad boy types? Well this little nugget appeals to all types of girls & boys alike! I haven't been a HUGE fan of KID ROCK's but when I heard AMEN on the radio, I was intrigued. I also had heard "TOO HOT" which makes you curious....After getting the CD, I love to play it over & over. It's a very diverse mix of good/bad & dirty! LOVE IT! I think my favorite at this moment is "NEW ORLEANS". Play it loud!

A great mix of all he does!:
This is an album that covers every style kid rocks does country, soul, hip hop, rock, etc. If you are a fan you will luv! 3 songs are great concert song the rest are more soft. "half your age" is pure country and sounds great with kid's voice. "blue jeans and a rosary" is one of his best written songs. Rock on kid!!
