New Gen:
Intro:Nintendo released its latest Gameboy in late 2004 and its been a hit since then with great games, improved graphics, new features like the stylet pen and on top of that has a double screen.Altough it doesn`t have great graphics like the PSP or as many features its a very different portable console and a step to the next generation... This editon is the latest of the DS,a DS lite. Its lighter than a normal DS and the mic is not on the side anymore, its between the two creens wich is pretty cool. The two screens is cool and was never seen before the DS the stylet is also pretty fun.Another great thing is the pictochat because you can chat with another Nintendo DS owner and draw pictures too AND you can play multiplayer with only ONE person owning the game so now you don`t need to buy the game to play with a friend. PLUSSES: -Two screens wich is great(you can play on one screen and have the map on the other screen) -Pictochat is very cool -A lighter DS -You can play a game with someone even if you don`t have the game -The stylet pen is cool -Cool new color -Can play gameboy advanced games and much more the DS is great and has very few low points... -This polar white version is fingerproof Low points: -EUMMmmmnnnNGN..,:none This is a great buy for any gamer and/or anyone who wants a portable consoles. The DS has many excellent feature including the fun pictochat and many more,a DS is a great buy,no other of saying it. RATINGS: GRAPHICS:8.5/10-If you want some really great graphics get a PSP butthe DS has very grea graphics too and is a HUGE improvement ovver the gameboy advance. CONTROLS:10/10-Excellent easy, fun controls and the stylet is great too GAMES:10/10-A huge load of games are ainvailable already and nearly each game is fun. OVERRAL:9.8

A very pleasant surprise:
I've resisted getting any hand held game system for a long time. Brain Age got me interested in trying a DS. I love it. The Deep blue colour is really a nice rich colour. a very grown up aesthetic to see the black and blue colour combo. My personal test of any simple electronics device or software is basic: without reading instructions, how much can I just figure out by trying it out. Well The DS won the test. I opened the case, flipped open the top on the unit , switched on and the first thing that happened was a welcoming setup screen that was very straightforward to use. Very user friendly from the word go. The screens are great, the size and layout of controls are pretty intuitive. Had a ball with it from the word go. So I have to eat my words about hand helds as kids stuff because I was totally engrossed by the interactive experience: touch screen, voice recognition, electronic writing pad and sound sensitive too, with some games. I got Brain Age to start with and it uses the DS functions very well. Not a childish game or system, if you don't want it to be. I'm a forty something man that has always had just a casual players love for gaming and realized what a great way to pass the time while commuting. Test my IQ and "exercise" my brain, do sudoku or maybe even dip into a bit of Mario for some fun. I look forward to more fun and interesting games & applications with it. A comfortable gaming system with great functionality and a broader range of age appropriate games, for many types, than you might expect.

incredible upgrade:
I originally had a regular fat DS and although it worked well, the weight and design just caused a lot of issues...especially when playing games that require you to use your left hand to hold the handheld, while the other to use the stylus...caused a lot of cramps and frusteration. I recently picked up a DS Lite and its a HUGE difference over the original version. It's light, easier to get a grip on and it seems a lot brighter...definitely an excellent upgrade from the original design.

Great choice for a portable console.:
The Nintendo DS is better than the PSP in many ways - it looks cooler, it's more compact, the battery lasts longer, there is a touch screen and it's actually fun. The only cons (that aren't even cons for most people) are it has no media or video playback like the PSP does. Nintendo has done a good job in making the DS Lite fun for all ages by including games that will appeal to everyone from 1 year old to 99 years old - Brain Age, Super Mario 64 DS, Super Mario Bros, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and many more! A great investment for yourself or a family member.

DS:
GREAT! A+++++ Great fun, endless entertainment considering the vast choice of games. Touch screen works great, battery lasts long and the screen is very bright, great in all conditions. The only way you should even consider a PSP in its place is if you have a need for mp3 and video capability but what with the the vast majority of consumers owning iPod's its hardly necessary to have your game console be capable of the exact same thing. Plus what's more fun than Mario Bros???
