robocut vs flowbee:
I have owned both a flowbee and a robocut and both systems work as advertised. There is no need to get the little mini-vacuum since any vacuum with a hose works just fine. The flowbee lasted for over ten years of use. For a number of years I used it not only on my own hair but on my dog, a Spitz with very thick fur. The summers here in Atlanta were brutal for Nikki until I started using the flowbee on him to customize the length of his fur to match the seasons. At first I needed help keeping him calm and still with the noise of the cutter and the vacuum, but after a while I could easily do it all by myself. This saved many hundreds of dollars compared to taking him to a commercial place, it allowed more gradual trimming as the seasons progressed, and I believe it was also less traumatic for him. The flowbee finally broke beyond repair and my next purchase was a robocut which was ten dollars less expensive at the time. The robocut has a sliding adjustment for the length of the cut as opposed to the flowbee's plastic spacers of different lengths. This is a bit easier to use than the flowbee's spacers but either way you have to pay attention to the cut length during the process of cutting. The robocut seems to be able to trim just a bit closer than the flowbee, but in part this is because the flowbee has a larger exposed cutting area than the robocut. The robocut worked fine at first but developed cracks in the main body where the spinning cutters are and now, in only about two years, the robocut cracked completely apart during a haircut and is trash. Bottom line. Both the robocut and the flowbee work as advertised. You can cut your own hair with no help in a matter of minutes. They cut the hair nice and even just like a professional cut. My personal experience is that the flowbee lasted through about TEN TIMES the amount of hair cutting as the robocut. My next purchase will be the flowbee.

Great hair-cutter, but it is NOT the "Automatic" model with air speed control.:
This is a great hair cutter, however it isn't the "Automatic" model with air speed control as listed. That model comes in a different box with a vacuum. It is the vacuum that has air speed control. This is the regular model and this price is not a discount as the model listed and the seller's name implies. I notified the seller but the listing has not been corrected. The hair-cutter cuts clean and evenly and works very well. The rotary blades and more adjustable height made me choose this over the Flow-bee. I am happy with the purchase because I researched, and knew what I was getting as opposed to what is advertised. I chose Amazon because Robocut's web site did not appear to have secure credit card transactions like Amazon.

Robocut is all I use, for 2 years now! Perfect Results:
I have been using my original white Robocut for 2 years now, the warranty just expired (great warranty by the way). My white colored Robocut is still working as good as it did when I first got it. I cut my hair about every 2 weeks, nice to be able to trim and keep a nice looking haircut. My measurements that I use is for the Top of head I use 2 1/8 inches (all you do is use the 2 inch length adapter and slide all the way down, this is technically 2 1/8" and there is no mistake that can happen as it is as far as it goes so it won't be able to move any lower which I like, then for 1st zone around head I set to 1 1/2 inches with just the shorter taper adapter then next zone I use 1" and last zone which is around neckline and lowest side of head and sideburns I use 1/2 inches. I love this product, I cannot live without it. I always oil the 4 different blades with 1 drop of oil on all of them and I put 2 drops of oil on center nut area where it spins. Then turn on for a couple of seconds without the vacuum on so that oil can lube really well. Then on goes my Bissell bagless vacuum which sucks very very well. Takes me actually about 5-7 minutes to complete haircut max... Then I use my Remington vacuum trimmer (which you can also find on Amazon, but I bought mine from Don Quiote here in Pearl City, Hawaii) and I trim around my ears and then I use my ghetto tech LOL nylon straps in which I made my own Hairline so to speak, I attached 3 nylon straps (can be found at hardware store) and line middle strap up to lowest part of hairline and I use Remington trimmer and clean up the neckline just like a professional box cut style. Just hold the 2 ends of nylon straps in front of head and middle one lines up perfectly to get the box cut behind. I tripled the middle strap so that I would never slip with the trimmer. I do my complete haircut all by myself, no help needed except for the bathroom mirrors in front of me and one handheld behind me attached to by bathroom door. Trust Robocut, I have been using it alot since I got it 2 years ago and not 1 problem with any slowdowns or pulling, just oil it correctly just before use and have a strong sucking vac and you will be intrigued at how you can have a do it yourself haircut anytime you want with very great results, I actually just finishes trimming with it again this morning and am very happy once again.. If anything ever happens to this robocut I will not hesitate to order the new Red improved Robocut, but as for now I still think I will get alot more use out of this white one, Overall very pleased and just remember it takes time to get used to getting the perfect cut but you will be able to do it very nicely if you follow my pointers I have mentioned. By the way, my friend owns a Flowbee and he always complains about the flimsy adapters it has, I have not complained about anything on my Robocut and I just love how quiet it runs compared to his Flowbee. Take care and if you can any additional questions just ask.. By the way, when I am at the mall at Pearlridge here and pass by the salons there I think to myself how great it is not having to do that anymore. I never liked being on public display in those darn places LOL Jay

Robocut works:
Bought a robocut more than 7 years ago. Have not been to a barber since. If you oil the blades every time and get good suction power from your vacuum it has worked for me. My hair is not longer than 4 inches. I cut my own hair faster than going to a stylist. Normally 10 minutes.

J*U*N*K*:
Back in the early 90's I used to cut my own hair with my Dad's flowbee in like 20 minutes, and it still works today. For over 10 years in the military, I was going to the base barbershop, as I had all but forgotten about the flowbee, much less even knew how to find one anymore. I recently did a search online and found the "Robocut" instead. I fell for their biased side by side comparison and ordered the Robocut. Honest to God, when I received it, the piece of junk already had a chip in the plastic that holds the blade in. Not one to complain, I superglued it in place to keep the blade from popping out. I studied the instructions and dvd and went to cutting away. Hours later, I was finally done. I don't know what the problem is with this robocut. To top it off, the damn thing gave me a feathered haircut (70s style) each time I used it. After 2 or 3 more robocuts, I decided to go back to the barbers for a good haircut, but at $12+ a pop, I'm ordering my Flowbee today. Read several reviews of the Robocut, and you'll find my same experiences.
