Rhaphiolepsis Umbrellata Minor

A multi-season shrub extraordinaire, this Dwarf Yeddo Hawthorn makes a lovely impact in the sunny to lightly shaded garden with its glossy evergreen foliage (held very densely on rounded shrubs), fragrant white blooms in huge clusters atop the leaves, and handsome bluish-black fruits. Adaptable to a wide range of conditions, this is among the easiest and most successful of shrubs for warm climates! Slowly growing 3 to 4 feet high and 4 feet wide, this splendid shrub makes a fine foundation plant, border standout, low hedge, or accent. It is quite drought-tolerant once established in the garden, yet also thrives in moist soil, and is ideal for coastal plantings. The spring blooms add rich fragrance to the garden, and the year-round greenery are a welcome jolt of color for winter.
