Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley - Gothic Novelist (biography)

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley - Gothic Novelist is the biography of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, who was a popular British writer. She is best known for her historical and Gothic novels. Her book Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus (published in 1818), in which a scientist creates life in human form, is a lasting inspiration to other writers, filmmakers and scientists. She was married to the Romantic writer Percy Bysshe Shelley. Between August 1819 and February 1820, Mary Shelley wrote her short novel Matilda, on the common Romantic themes of incest and suicide. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley had planned to write a biography of Percy Shelley, soon after his death. However, her father-in-law, Sir Timothy Shelley, had effectively banned her from doing so. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley - Gothic Novelist is highly recommended for those interested in reading more about this creative and popular writer.
