Although Arthur Conan Doyle is best known for his stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes, he also wrote many other books. Brigadier Gerard is part of Napoleon's military. As he faces the enemies of France he is constantly put in mortal danger. This novel traces his adventures as he travels around war torn Europe.
