MIU France polished stainless steel potato press/ricer, item number: 3078A. This potato press (ricer) is ideal for making mashed potatoes. The press is designed much like a garlic press. Lift the handles and place the food into the hopper. Squeeze the handles together to press the food through the perforated hopper. The side hook helps to secure the placement of the press over pots or bowls. Since the press breaks down large and small chunks of food, using the press will produce lighter, fluffier and smoother mashed potatoes. Unlike a food processor, the press will not over-work or break down the starches, which can result in gooey or gummy tasting potatoes. This press can be used with all steamed fruits and vegetables to make purees and sauces.
