You are about to embark upon an academic expedition of discovery unlike any you may have experienced in the past. Understanding physics will allow you to appreciate the arc of a soccer ball in the air, the pitch of a violin string as bow, and many more ordinary and not-so-ordinary events in your physical world.Physics is the study of the interactions of energy and matter. In a high school course such as this, the topics discussed represent a survey of only the most essential material. Advanced theoretical physics involves the use of high-level mathematics, which you will not see unless you choose to pursue a college science or technological course of study. In this course, you will need only you algebraic skills to understand the fundamental principles of physics. This simplicity is a testimony to the basic orderliness of creation that allows us to model complex ideas in simple mathematical formulas.
