Not great for Newbies: I just bought a home and bought this book due to a recomendation from a friend. First of all, I have no clue about any kind of home repair/improvement stuff, so I was coming in completely clueless. Well, this book was quite comprehensive in the amount of stuff it covers but I thought it lacked a lot of the details that newbies like me would want/need to know. I think it took too much for granted. I returned the book and did some research on better alternatives.. like "The Complete Photo Guide to Home Improvement" and "The New Complete Do-It-Yourself Manual"
Tool Belt with binding: I found this book quite useful. If you are not a do it yourself type of person or you not to handy with tools don't even try this book. Over all I use it for many projects around the house.
Home Improvement Tips: This book we a great resource. I am working in Iraq as a contractor and wanted to read up on a few tips so when I come home I can upgrade a few things to my house. Thanks again for the fast shipping as well. Dwaine
Improvement book: This is a great, comprehensive guide for the novice do-it-yourselfer. I am very happy with the purchase!
Have an easier guide handy: Although this guide is very descriptive and technically accurate, it's sometimes hard to understand. After I purchased this book, I immediately had to purchase another one more "idiot-friendly." Using the idiot's guide for a general understanding, you can get a more technical and comprehensive plan from this book. Put this one on the coffee table to look impressive and carry something else in your back pocket for practical information!
