The Worlds of Lois Lowry 3 Copy Boxed Set (The Giver, ... (ISBN 0385733895)

These books are great:
I love the giver the most. I had read it in high school and I remembered I'd loved it so when I saw this set I had to have it. It's been 11 years ago that I last read it and I love it just as much. I haven't got around to the others yet but I know I will love them too.

Set of books for a gift:
The set of books were very nice and my daughter loved them. Good value on them.

Great books:
I gave this boxed set as a gift, but the story is very creative and interesting. A quick read that is very enjoyable.

A must read for all ages!:
All of the books are great reads for anyone of any age. Though the stories are supernatural and set in the future the storyline really leaves you thinking about the fact that your actions impact the world around you. I first read the giver when I was in school and it was the only required reading book I actually finished reading. I have read The Giver three times since then and have recently read the other 2 books.

"The Giver" is amazing:
The only book in this set that I loved was "The Giver". The other two were ok if you really want to know what happens to Jonas, or if you want to know more about the world that Lois Lowry created. But honestly I'd rather have just read the first book and left the rest to my imagination. Gathering Blue was ok, a little drawn out and not very exciting. The messenger was more interesting then Gathering Blue. I feel that the fault of the two lies with my own expectations and the lack of wonder and the mystic of "The Giver". After reading "The Giver" I was left with so many questions and a sense of awe. After reading the entire trilogy I was left underwhelmed and disappointed. In my opinion "The Giver" is a must read, the other two could be skipped.
