Courtesy of Teens Read Too: Charlie and Nicole are best friends and do practically everything together, including trying out for the school musical. The only things in their way are Amber Wiley and her little sister, Olivia. Oh, and Nelson, Olivia's imaginary friend! When Charlie and Nicole try out something fishy starts happening, and no one is prepared for what happens next. What is it? You'll have to read the book to find out! I give DRAMA QUEEN four stars because it makes you want to keep reading and reading! Reviewed by: Liz
Loooooooooooooove It!!!!: I love this book and the Candy Apple Series though this isn't my fave in the Candy Apple series. It's "How To Be A Girly Girl in Just Ten Days". If you like any Candy Apple books you'll like this too! Just so you know I'm not Latoya I'm her 14 year old daughter.
I vote for more Charlies in Middle School: It's easy to find an Amber in Middle School. There will always be that one girl who is not so nice, who has a following of friends who do mostly what she wants them to do. But what about those of us who just want to be ourselves. That's where Charlie comes in! This book is a great read and tells a wonderful story of a Middle School girl who simply wants to be happy, helpful, do her homework, and get along with her brother and sisters. Along the way, she finds herself trying to get her homework done and keep her little sister's imaginery friend happy and maybe catch the eye of the cutest boy in school, maybe even in the whole world. This is a wonderful book that takes the serious side of the perils of popularity and treats them in a funny and real manner. I have added four more titltes to my Amazon.com cart!
A Fun Read: The story is entertaining, and the girls in the book do discuss important life topics amongst themselves. The story does resolve in a pleasing way that leaves us optimistic about growing up and facing early adolescent issues. However, I finished the book still eager for more in depth discussions and commentary about the important social subjects being discussed.
