Huge Disappointment!: I have all of Better Homes and Gardens interior design books, and usually they are a "sure thing", but don't waste your money on this one. Almost half of the book is about their past 50 years of decorating advice and photos, so unless you're looking to copy looks from the 50's, 60's, or 70's, the first 170 or so pages are a complete waste. Unfortunately, it didn't get any better, because the rest of the pics are re-used from BH & G's other books, so there's NO new material in the whole book!
A lovely guide important for any interior renovation project.: It's been fifty years since the DECORATING BOOK by Better Homes and Gardens hit the market and made such an impact, and the occasion is marked here with a new edition which uses examples from the 1956 edition to offer up basic decorating lessons behind putting rooms together. From choosing colors and selecting materials to understanding furnishings, trends, options, and handling space limitations. DECORATING THE AMERICAN HOME packs contemporary color photos with modern assessments in a lovely guide important for any interior renovation project. Diane C. Donovan California Bookwatch
