The Bible is the New Century Version which some would say the greatest story ever told! It is broken up in pieces so you understand what you will be reading! With notes of what a father should be, by Robert Wolgemuth through out every situation, it is indeed a very explanatory Bible! The pages through out each story are made to look like an older book, but what it actually is, is it looks like the Gold edges bleed through out into each page! Very easy to use, pages flow in a way that you don't want to put it down! I have 2 of these Bibles, so I always have one at 2 of the places I live! Get the Green Leather Bond Edition! You will not be sorry!
A Father's Guide To Live By:
I purchased this bible last week and it is absolutely phenomenal. At the beginning of each bible story, Wolgemuth gives the reader a brief summary of what the book you are about to read is about and how it can be applied to being a father, a husband, and a genuine person. Also, the author adds numerous other things throughout the bible that give it the "father feel". Wolgemuth includes segments titled "Walking in Authority" (describes being a family leader and servant God intends), "Passing It On" (challenging advice on livig your faith with your children), "Building Your Children" (seven key areas of focus intended to help you encourage strong, godly character in your children), and a few other things that are found throughout the bible. The last portion of the bible includes a great "Questions and Answers" section that covers many of the tough questions that children ask about God, the bible, etc.. The answers are general answers, but at least give you somewhat of an idea so that as a father you can add-on to the general answers given by the author. There is also a topical index at the end which points you to different verses based on the topic you choose as well as what "God's Word On" (short segments of the bible) that same subject. Overall, this bible is a MUST HAVE for current and future fathers alike. The book will help you stay in touch with God, raise your children to be genuine Christians, and lead a great family as God intends.
Wishin for a Mom's Version just like it:
This Bible was the perfect Father's Day gift for the 3 men in my life. They are strong men who aren't too sure at the moment where they place God yet this Bible appealed to each of them. My dad who I have never seen pick up a Bible, or enjoy reading, took it from my hands one night as I was looking at it to read and reflect on a huge life change taking place, my brother's wedding. My brother, who is quite younger and seemed VERY disinterested in religion/God of any kind, went to church this past Sunday and LOVES his Bible. I know the Lord leads them and is reaching out to them through this version. It has a rustic no non-sense appeal. The added commentaries place thoughts from scripture in a man's perspective that is down to earth and real. I was quite tempted to keep one for myself! Instead, I'm currently looking for a Mother's Bible to add to my resources. My only appeal to the author is for a King James Version. I just believe some words aren't meant to be changed or explained by any other than the author and the reader!
