This Should Be The #1 Bestseller In The Country: Whoever this Wayne Nance is, everyone in the world should meet him and read his book. No BS here -- just straightforward, well-researched, common sense information that ANYONE can put into play today. None of this do-as-I-say-right-now-and-change-your-whole-life stuff. Minor adjustments, logical assessments, and one brilliant man talking plain language that can save us all. The heck with that The Secret garbarge -- this guy is here, has done his own research, and has experienced everything that we're all going through. This book is terrific.
Not terrible but not quite one that leaves you excited either: Perhaps this is not so much a review as a comparison, given 2008 turned out to be a "self-help-book" year for me. This was the fourth in a string of books I read which included two by Debbie Ford("Best year of your life," "Why Good people do bad things") and "The Adversity Advantage." Alas, this one was the least gripping for me. Although this book starts out pretty well, ultimately his one concept of breaking us each into a type of boat runs pretty "thin" after awhile. I read the first four or five chapters and found myself skimming the rest. Seems like once I defined my boat type, it was easy to only read the paragraphs related to that and not much else. Note the personality test he has you take can be pretty enlightening if you do it twice-first do it from your own point of view, then read the words to someone else. Don't be surprised if your perception by others is far different than how you describe yourself. Outside of that, I would rate this book #4 behind the others. I felt the others left me feeling a bit more pumped up. My advice-this book can be found on library shelves now. Read it for free if you can.
Good methods for change: Want to be Thin, Rich, and Happy? This book helps you get out of your own way to get there. Points out which type of person you are, and how you stop yourself from achieving your goals. And tells you how to get out of your own way. Could be a little shorter, but you can skip over here and there and gather the main points. A lot of little tips throughout. It will take some time to change your old habits. Be patient!
