Funny Friends: Milly and Tug's spelling bee is one of the funniest I've ever seen--Amelia Bedelia fans will love the word play. When the two friends co-author a book, they run into difficulty right away. Should the title be "Milly and Tug" or "Tug and Milly"? The pair may have disagreements (while the reader chuckles), but their genuine friendship makes the book touching as well as humorous. The illustrations--wonderful black-and-white line drawings--add to the humor.
Milly and Tug a book not just for kids: This book is just so cute. It is one of my favorites. You will love it too. They are great best friends that come over problems like a spelling bee and scarey stories. You will enjoy this book again and again. I have read it 4 times and I am on not bored of it yet. Go buy it you will love it. It is a heartwarmer.
Funny chapter book for beginning readers: "It is rare for a mouse to be a cat's best friend," said Tug. "Right," Milly agreed. "A mouse is usually a cat's best dinner." This fun chapter-book for early readers has lots going for it: situations that make you smile, chuckle and laugh out loud. The illustrations by Jennifer Danza perfectly capture Milly and Tug's relationship. This is very reminiscent of Arnold Lobel's Frog and Toad books. The author also captures the ups and downs of childhood friendships with great accuracy. This would be a great gift for the child in your life who is ready for a chapter book. I hope we hear more from Milly and Tug!
