Dead In The Water (Amanda Hazard Mysteries) (ISBN 0821752448)

A quick read and full of laughs...:
Dead in the Water is the first novel in the Amanda Hazard series by Connie Feddersen. I may be the only mystery fan left who hasn't read any of these novels, but I make up for my lack of punctuality in enthusiasm! Amanda Hazard has recently left the hub of Oklahoma City, aka the City, to open her accounting business in the small town of Vamoose, Oklahoma. She's rented a small farm near town and set up shop with all of the best intentions. Arriving at the farm of William Farley early one winter morning, she discovers William has been murdered, drowned in his cattle's stock tank. Unfortunately, she's the only person who believes this was the case. With the intermittant assistance of the sexy policeman, Nick Thorn, Amanda investigates the murder by spending time at Vamoose's only restaurant, the Last Chance Cafe, and Velma's Beauty Boutique, eager to pick up gossip and clues. In between those appointments, she's busy fending off Nick's advances. Overall, a great weekend read. I look forward to the rest of the series!

Fast paced,sexual & emotional tensions provide good reading:
Hazard is a women of the 90's, to much of a feminist for her own good, a crime that she always believes is murder much to the dismay of her love, Nick Thorn, she makes alot of mistakes, of which we all do, but finally gets her man and/or women, with a lot of everyday strife involved. I think it's fun reading along with trying to solve a crime. Now if I could just find "Dead In The Dirt", I'd be a happy camper.
