Historically descriptive, yet concise: Caldron of Conflict is a excellent book for anyone interested in the interwar period of 20th century Eastern Europe. It is a very concise book that avoids flowery writing styles of some other historical texts, thus making it ideal for a reader that is trying to gain the most inormation about the period without redundant descriptions or tangent stories. A general overview of the entire region with sections in each chapter dedicated to each country explains the transformations that took place through out Eastern Europe between World War I and WWII. It is an absolute must read for anyone interested in the modern Eastern European history and politics.
