A must have for all RF design engineers!: This book is the bible of Microwave Filters, Impedance-Matching Networks and Coupling Structures. The novice can jump right in and start designing structures. The experienced engineer will find in-depth study and insight into many rf structures.
A must for RF filter designers: A wealth of information covering a wide variety of coupling methods and structures. Effective use of examples and tables makes this the best text on the subject I have read.
OK but big and expensive: This is a somewhat over sized, over priced tome and to be honest "Microwave Engineering; Passive Circuits" by Peter A. Rizzi is probably more concise and more usable.
Graduate Student doing research in Microwave Engineering: This book is excellent. I use this book regularly in my research in Microwave Engineering. I have been able to develop very good impedance matching networks using the techniques put forth in this book. The presentation is excellent and very comprehensive. Despite being over 20 years old this book contains information that will help any RF Microwave Engineer. I feel that all RF Microwave Engineers should have this book in thier personal library. My advisor and the other graduate students refer to this book as "MYJ, the bible." I would like to see much more description on how coupled microstrip resonators can be realized. I guess Gupta's book is good for that tho. IN SUMMARY EXCELLENT MUST HAVE BOOK.
Matthai text: This gargantuan text is the cornerstone of knowledge for filter design. It was recommended to me by a colleague with more than 25 years of experience designing filters. It was expensive but worth it. If I had to pick one text and only one text on filter design this would be it. I used it for reference for cavity BPF design but the theory is broad and there are design examples, too. The MTT-S proceedings are heavliy referenced so be prepared. Very good book!
