Adirondack Flora: Dr. Erwin Ketchledge is a legacy of northern New York State and Adirondack conservation and preservation. I was lucky to have had the chance to be his student of dendrology at the NYS Forestry College in the 1980's. This small pocket book is all one needs to understand the basics of the north country flora and ecology. It is simple reading and targeted for the novice who seeks to understand the dynamics of plant communities across varying elevations and habitats without being overwhelmed by ecological terminology, theory and concepts. As an ecologist it was pleasure reading and a refresher on some ecological basics.
