I wish I'd have had all the information in this book when I became a manager. I felt like I was thrown into the deep end with no guidance. This book covers it all in a practical way that's easy to follow. It gives specific answers to those tricky management questions in a step-by-step format. I especially liked the section on writing and conducting performance reviews - this is always delicate and Ms. Milkovich covered it very well. The book is a fast read and is interesting from cover to cover.
