If Monty Python produced a book about the corporate world....: I laughed out loud through this entire book. Anyone working in the corporate world (or someone like me who works in the government) will "get" this book. I recognized so many people the authors poke fun at--a few times I even recognized myself. This book is very funny, clever and irreverent, and it really rings true with a lot of the ridiculousness we are forced to endure at work. I highly recommend this book for anyone who needs a good laugh -- especially about work.
Business is funny.. glad that someone finally wrote about it that way!: This has got to be the funniest business book I have ever read. If you've ever worked for a company and wondered where they sometimes get their crazy logic - you will love this. I'm buying an extra copy to keep at work so I can have a good laugh whenever my day goes bad.
"Burn, baby, burn!": Rosewater's and Galt's "The Damned Company" does for The Contemporary Corporation what Dante's "Inferno" did for The Medieval Roman Church - and does it with dark comedic wit and oh so very much verve. From the slow-burn fires of E-Mail Hell, to hotter ones in Meeting Hell, to the fieriest furnace of the un-sweet Executive Suite, the authors guide us on a take-no-prisoners tour of "The Damned Company." Most of us have already served time there. "Bonuses" include a quick test to determine if you're trapped in "The Damned Company" right now, as well as a Glossary of Terms as helpful as Anthony Burgess's in "A Clockwork Orange." Take the tour and laugh. Sometimes the laughter can keep us from crying!
