Nice calendar for history buffs:
I got this for my husband who's always watching the history channel and who uses a boxed desk calendar at work. I think he'll like it, and I haven't seen it in the bookstores around here so I was glad to find it while searching Amazon.
Some interesting facts, but completely useless as a planning calendar:
Each page -- one for each day -- lists an event that you may or may not find interesting, and that is all. However, the absence of a simple block numerical calendar for the current month (or, what would be better, for last month, this month, and next month) on each page makes this product useless for planning. You cannot see, for example, on what day of the week April 4th will fall without flipping through to the April 4th page. I wouldn't call this a calendar; it would be more accurate to call it a tablet of days.
On This Day:
The shipping was a nightmare....first, they wouldn't leave the package at my house...then I arranged for them to deliver at my workplace (3 days later)...then they charged me a COD of $8.00, which I paid the driver....then, 3 weeks later they sent me an invoice for $8.00 again....what a bunch of pirates!
Not that interesting....:
It's an ok calendar, but I thought there was too much "history" that no one is really that interested in.
Fun and educational:
This was purchased as a gift last Christmas. The recipient was very happy with the calendar. He is an older man who enjoys history. Reading this calendar every day stirs up a lot of memories for him.
