Great Text, A Must Have even if you are not a student: This is a great introductory (sport) biomechanics text, for kinesiology students or for the interested layman. It is not calculus-based; however, it requires some familiarity with a PC in order to get the most out of it. Some of the things that separate this material from other academic works include the very strong sense of accessability and of being "student-oriented". The text is not hurried or unnecessarily difficult, and having the advantage of demonstrating the principles through sports-based movements, is immediately very digestable. It is very tech-based -- and this is the major advantage to using this text. It comes with accompanying software and tools that allow students to do amazing things. Without having to use a half-million-dollar set of motion-capture equipment, users can actually film, process, and analyse their own 3D biomechanics projects! On top of this, you won't get ripped off by the publisher (or school bookstore). This is a phenomonal book by a great instructor, and the perfect way to kick off (or continue to refine) a lifelong appreciation of elements of force and skill in movement!
