Interesting Approach, So-So Results:
With 50 "tastemakers" contributing, I had hoped that some would have evolved living spaces that were marvelously unique (ala Bloomsbury) or reflective of some unusual vision. So I was a bit disappointed. Too few of the homes and related stories held any special interest, and a few contributors were openly suspicious of anything so materialistic as a home interior. That's swell, but why bother contributing to a home photo book? Perhaps it was the author's intention to demonstrate that most homes, including those of the cognizenti, are about as unremarkable and unimaginative as that of this poor reader.

Home: 50 Tastemakers, Describe:
The only thing interesting about this book was the colorful book jacket! I was extremely disappointed in this publication! I have read and collected several decorating books and magazines over my 27 years of homeownership and, from a decorating point of view, this was actually one of the worse books I have ever purchased. The rooms featured in this book were extremely uninspiring! The pictures were overly cropped, the chosen rooms mostly looked like junk shops and flea-market booths; a few could be called ok - the rest just boring! I believe NATE BERKUS is one of the best designers for real people and offers great ideas although not much was shown of his space! I hope his being associated with this publication will not be a detriment to his reputation!
