Amost Good Enough To Eat: When looking for wedding cake ideas for your upcoming nuptuals like I am, it is really difficult to find a book or magazine which has many different ideas and designs. This book has a lot of traditional looking designs as well as some more modern and unique designs. It is definately worth taking a look at if you are in need of wedding cake help.
for professional decorator who use fondant: If you like fondant , you will enjoy this. The best feature of this book is the layout. There is a high ratio of nice designs (though personal taste is subjective) with a good variety of techniques and styles. The cakes shown are all in pastel shades but it makes sense because of the way this book is organized. The table of contents features a "level of skill" icon for each cake, and information is shown (with photos) on how to work with pleats, favors, and ribbons. The photo quality is excellent. There are a few flaws in the book. There is no information on how to order some of the materials used in the preparation of the cakes. It is too bad that this book seems to be marketed to the professional decorator only. The level of skill assessment should of been marked as basic, intermediate, and advanced (rather than beginner)It is hard to be inspired from this book because there was no notes given to encourage any creativity (variations).
