Excellent for such a small book: I was pleasantly surprised at the number of photos and some of the obscure variants covered - an excellent "quick" reference book!
Matilda Infantry Tank 1938-45 by David Fletcher: There are many books written about the Armored Fighting Vehicles of the Third Reich and their "victorious" marches through Europe and North Africa. There are also many books written about Rommel and Von Manstein and Guderian, about their "genius" for war. Few books are written regarding the Allied Armored Fighting Vehicles who truly led a victorious march through Europe, North Africa, and the Pacific during the Second World War. This book, Matilda Infantry Tank 1938-45 by David Fletcher, takes a look at a tank that was designed before the beginning of the war and fought for the winning side. Imagine that! This book will provide a good overview of the Matilda without being ponderously detailed. I found this book to be an entertaining and enlightening read.
