down to earth information: Covers just about everything you would need to know about a Cavalier. I highly recommend it if you are considering adopting one. It is easy to read and understand.
Enjoyable Book: I found the pictures in this book one of the best features. Also, it's ONLY about Cavs, which I also liked. A lot of books today have a "general" guide to training and raising a puppy (of any breed). This book focuses just on Cavs. The BEST part about this book is the information it gives on breeding. It's not included in many guide books these days. If you're interested in breeding your Cav, this book has a good start for you on information you'll need to know. Five stars.
How much do you already know?: If you are considering getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and have done little or no readying, you will find this book helpful. But I would use it only as a beginning point. Although the author is a successful breeder of show dogs in Great Britain, the book is 10 years old and some chapters are sorely out of date. The chapter on diet is REALLY out of date. The chapter on potential health issues - although the issues are still valid, there is a considerable amount of more updated info out there. Just find out as much as possible about the health issues of parents and grandparents of your dog. The best chapter was the one on grooming, which went into more detail than most other books or magazines I've read.
