Great Depth in a Little Format:
I just finished the beautiful little book A Mirage Will Never Quench Your Thirst by Laurent Weichberger- It is a delightful piece. The information on the dangers of drugs are thorough and informative. Personal experiences enrich one's understanding of the material covered. There is also the depth and vastness of the spiritual life that opens up beneath one. The use of Meher Baba's quotes invites one into the life of the spirit. Truly, it is a very special book that I know will be appreciated by many. There is such a drug problem in our midst, and the futility of drug use for recreational enjoyment is very clearly articulated. Truly a multi-dimensional book in a little, portable format!

An excellent weapon to be used in the war on drugs...:
This book was an incredibly clear, common sense presentation of the pitfalls of believing that there is anything beneficial in the use of drugs for spiritual reasons. In fact, the book does a wonderful job in exposing recreational drug use for what it truly is, a drain on mental (and spiritual) growth. The book also explains how, in many cases, the use of drugs to ease the pain associated with personal problems has, in the long term, the opposite affect. Often times, these problems are made worse by the fact that you now have a dependence on drugs clouding your ability to deal with these problems in a healthy fashion. As a parent of pre-teen and teenage children, I think "A Mirage..." is an excellent weapon to be used in the war on drugs. Thanks Mr. Weichberger.

Intelligent and Beautiful Reasons to Not Do Drugs:
This is the book I've been craving for years and I'm so happy it's finally here. I've already purchased several copies and given them away. Finally someone gives compelling reasons not to do drugs for mental, physical, and spiritual reasons, instead of merely preaching "Just say no" to an intelligent but misguided culture that has no use for condescension and being disrespected. Weichberger uses the wisdom of the "Don't worry, be happy" spiritual master to connect with a counter-culture that senses the emptiness of society's hypocrisy and therefore rebels, but yet is unsure of what to rebel against. It is easy to be ignorant of the dangers and futility of drugs if one is not given the opportunity to understand the deeper nature of how it affects one on the physical, mental and spiritual levels. I do not believe the American education system provides this knowledge. This book clearly illustrates the reality of the situation, but also provides practical methods of dealing with addictions in daily life. These insights offer a beautiful way of finding meaning and happiness without the insidious chemical destruction of pot and other substances. The illusory happiness offered by drugs is shown to be empty and false. The message of this book is desperately needed in today's world and for the sake of our future.
