Amazon.com Product Description:
The RCA Wireless Modem Jack RC930 uses household electrical wiring to provide a simple solution for consumers who want to add a telephone jack to any room in the home or office. It can accommodate modem speeds up to 56K and is compatible with personal and laptop computers, caller ID units, and Internet access devices, in addition to corded and cordless phones, answering machines, fax machines, and digital satellite system receivers. The system consists of two units: a base and an extension. The base unit transmits the telephone signal on the electrical wiring using the FM band. It plugs into an electrical outlet near an existing telephone jack and connects to an existing telephone jack with a modular phone cord. The extension unit plugs into any electrical outlet and operates as a telephone jack. Once the base unit is plugged in, an unlimited number of extension units may be operated from the original base unit.

does what you'd expect:
Used the RC930 for my series 2 tivo. Plugged it in and it worked exactly as I expected. Probably wouldn't have bought it if I'd realized the series 2 can use a wifi adapter instead of a phone line.

Wonderful Wireless Modem Jack!!!!!:
RCA RC930 Caller-ID-Compatible Wireless Modem Jack is a wonderful product for us. Have Dish Network or Directv? Really great for connecting an extra telephone line. You can even add a splitter and maybe have an extra phone near the satellite receiver. Word of caution: always plug the jacks into an actual wall outlet and not use extension outlets. This may cause some interference. Try them you'll like them!!!!!

Portable Phone Jack -- Perfect When Phone Connects Via Internet:
When I decided to connect my phone service via the Internet, I hadn't really thought about the fact that I now have only 1 phone jack. This problem is solved if you have a cordless phone where only 1 unit needs to be plugged into the phone jack. However, what about those of us who may need to connect our satellite / cable service / fax machine / another computer, etc., to a phone jack? The solution is the RCA RC930 Caller-ID-Compatible Wireless Modem Jack ---- its easy to install; just plug in the base unit next to your existing phone / internet connection which both get plugged into the base. Then you have an Extension Unit that you can plug in anywhere in your home to place a phone jack where you need it, when you need it. So far, it works great --- I have been able to plug the extension in near my fax machine when I need to send a fax; then, when I want to download a PPV movie, I can move the extension next to the satellite receiver to do so. I realized that since I don't send faxes all the time and since I don't download movies all the time, 1 extension unit is enough for my needs since I can move it anywhere I need it. I am happy with my purchase and the RCA Wireless Modem Jack works great! I give this product 5 stars!

Amazon bundles non-compatible items:
The RCA RC 920 that Amazon sells bundled with the RCA RC 930 are not compatible. Call Audiovox, the actual manufacturer, at 800-409-5111 to confirm. The RC 930 works fine. The RC 920 is worthless.

Added Static too line:
Installed item same as i did for my Replay TV unit back in the day. It added toomuch static too the line to be able to have a voice conversation.
