Works WELL but the cord, the cord:
I have used this for two years and it still works well but it has a cord. The cord is a true pain especially if you have any significant distance to drag the cord. When I reach the end of the hedge trimming area I have extended over 200 feet of cord and that is a true pain. Why I have not bought a gas powered model is only because I am probably too cheap to do so. I am also waiting for this one to die so that I can justify spending $200 for a gas one. If, however, you are trimming a small area of hedges then this is just right. It is light and fairly well balanced. Please be careful when you are using it. It can cut you or the cord. That is not good. Neither has taken place yet and I hope not. This is a much better product than Black & Deckers Weed Hog. While I have not had to replace this one, I have had 3 weed hogs and each was a piece of junque.

Good product:
It works very good cuts brsnches with ease. On soft pine shrubs it tears the small stuff but thats only a miner set back. It's a good buy for the money..

Dual Action Hedge Trimmer:
Great tool for bulk work, not for detailed scalpting a little to beastly for that.

B & D hedge hog.:
I have had a 12" cut one side B & D trimmer for 30 years. It is still operational, but I wanted a longer one that cuts both sides. The HS2400 does the job and it came at a fantastic price.

B & D HedgeHog Hedge Trimmer 2410:
I have the HR2410 (rather than the 2400), but they appear almost identical. I chose this model because I'm a woman that was looking for something lightweight, and I only need to maintain the constant jungle growth around my Florida townhome. Plus: Unit is lightweight, but the safety controls that require the same hand to engage at the same time are very challenging for my normal woman-sized hands. After getting past those hand acrobatics, the trimmer does a great job quickly whacking through vines up to 1/2" thick. Cons: Although I've only used the trimmer about eight times in the past nine months, tonight it decided to stop working (won't turn on). Because of my infrequent use, I was sure it was "user error" so I went to the B & D site to find the User Guide. I am very disappointed that searches for HH2400 and HH2410 turn up "product not found" on the site, and more upset that I can't find information on troubleshooting a barely-used product. I don't know if Dewalt has purchased B & D or simply handles their support, but that is the site I was routed to for support. In the meantime, I'll start digging for the hard-copy user manual in my files, but I am already dreading trying to get warranty support. In summary, this is a great little hedge trimmer for small yards, and I hope I can get it working again soon.
