Great for so cheap.:
I got this to do some wave recording more than actually build any Hip Hop. It is easy to use, but it must have the CD in the drive to operate. I am not really crazy about that, as I have to find it every time I need it. Otherwise it does some cool stuff like allow you to record wave files to put in your mixes.

Decent Entry Level Value:
I purchased Hip Hop eJay for my nine year old son. This program shows a lot of potential for learning composition. There are several basic, but nice features. Having to leave the CD in the drive is somewhat annoying but bearable. It is quick and easy to assemble a good sounding groove. It does not seem to allow playback of your music track during vocal recording. There is a Parental Advisory for Explicit Lyrics, but I have gone through many of the included vocal samples and found only a couple minor words. For the price, I think that it is an excellent entry level product to see if my child is interested enough for us to purchase the more expensive products.
