OK for the price:
First of all, five starts for Amazon's customer service. Not a surprise: I have been spoiled over the years by Amazon, but it never hurts to repeat. The first item delivered was defective. Half of the bed was not heated. So, Amazon promptly delivered another bed warmer (without waiting for me to return the old one-yay!), which works like it's supposed to-which means, not so great. It warms the bed, but it takes a long time even at the highest setting, so if you forget to turn it on at least one hour before bed, your bed will be quite cool. I bought a bed warmer because I want to slip into a *warm* bed, not a bed that's only marginally warmer than my cold bedroom. However, for the price and the added convenience of its being machine washable, this product will do the trick, and without adding much to your electricity bill.

Bad quality:
It breaks down very fast. I would not recommend this item, even after the many positive reviews by others. I had it for less than a month and then one fine day it stopped working. Now that it doesn't work I spent a while searching for more reviews and other people have the same complaint. Do not spend your money on this.

Pretty effective product:
This is a decent heated mattress pad if you don't want to spend too much $. It heats up the bed in about 10 minutes, has 5 heat settings (Though, in my opinion there is almost no distinguishable difference between settings 2 to 5) And it stays on until you shut it off. It is easy to use, has a long cord and is machine washable. The only reason it isn't a 5 is that It is still possible to feel the coils a little bit (it doesn't effect my sleeping but its not the lap of luxury). Also it doesn't have an auto shut off which is either an advantage or a con depending on how you look at it. Overall it works just fine, but its nothing fancy.

Works great, heats quickly.:
Works as it should, heats quickly. Easy to set temp, just push button with one finger to the right for warmer, and left for cooler. This is easier than other brands/units where you have to turn a dial, (which requires two hands to accomplish). I also own one of those, and bought this one for my son who is 11 years old. I bought it because it seemed easier to use (it is). It also turns off after 10 hours, so if he forgets to turn it off in the a.m., it will turn off by itself. Also: regarding energy use/savings-This is the second year using heated mattress pads. We heat our home with natural gas/forced hot air, and we now keep our home cooler at night, and I have noticed about $600 savings (gas) after the first year, and have not seen our electric bill go up at all over the last year. (even a gas heating system uses electricity to run-so it is running less, and using less electricity, I suppose)

I bought this mattress pad to replace the worn out one that my 79 year old mother uses. She loves it! She said it is so nice, it really warms up her feet and legs and her upper body stays cooler. She has arthritis in the knees and hips, and her feet get cold so she uses the heated mattress pad year round. She said it is warm right where she needs it. She says, "it's a keeper!"
