Features:
  • One could say, its an Italian-Mexican fusion condiment!
  • People who like both heat and garlic on their food will love it!

Essential Seasoning:
Here in Louisiana, Tabasco sauce is basic. We put it on everything. Our idea of a great road trip is to go to Avery Island and tour the Tabasco plant. We pose for pictures by the giant Tabasco bottle there. As children, we need to spritz it on our food. By the time we reach adulthood, we are pouring it on. Thanks to Amazon for stocking this wonderful product.

The #1 Red Pepper Sauce:
Over the years while honing my skills as a backyard cook and chili maker I have come across a few must haves on my shelf. The one and only Tabasco Original Flavor Red Pepper Sauce is definitely one of those. A flavorful concoction of chilies, vinegar and spices this is by far the number 1 Hot Sauce. I am sure millions of recipes have based their success on this quality sauce. I primarily enjoy this great tasting Bayou creation on tortilla chips, meat loaf, sauces, marinades, soups and as someone's homemade chili enhancer. On the Hot Meter aka Scoville Chart, this sauce comes in at a rating of 2500-5000 rating (HOT). It is not for whimpy taste buds. Tabasco is second to none.

The Quintessential Condiment!:
An American original, this is the Granddaddy of them all, an essentially unchanged, bestselling product for more than 140 years. New flavors have been added in recent years: Green Pepper Sauce (milder yet) (600-1200 Scoville Heat Units), Habanero Sauce (hottest) (>7000 Scoville Heat Units), Garlic Pepper Sauce (milder) (1200-2400 Scoville Heat Units), Chipotle Pepper Sauce (mild) (1500-2500 Scoville Heat Units), Sweet & Spicy Pepper Sauce (mildest) (100-600 Scoville Heat Units), but this is the original (hot) (2500-5000 Scoville Heat Units). Dueling histories of the McIlhenny Company are available: (authorized) Tabasco: An Illustrated History and (unauthorized) McIlhenny's Gold: How a Louisiana Family Built the Tabasco Empire, for those curious about how this most remarkable product and business empire came to be. Note: "A pharmacist named Wilbur Scoville invented the Scoville Scale in 1912 to measure the heat of peppers. A 'Scoville Unit' is actually a measure of capsaicin (the chemical in hot peppers that is responsible for their heat). Scoville's test was a comparative taste test that is considered subjective by today's standards. A more sophisticated method is in use today, but in honor of Wilbur Scoville, the unit of measure is still called the Scoville. The capsaicin level in peppers can vary from plant to plant due to local environmental conditions. This means that a pepper's rating is an average measure. The hottest pepper on record is the Bhut Jolokia with a pungency of over 1 million Scoville Heat Units (1,001,304, to be exact). By contrast, the Bell Pepper comes in at less than 100 Scoville Heat Units."

Delicious goodness in every drop!:
My trusty sauce that goes good on everything. This hot sauce has just the right kick of heat and delicious flavor. I use it on my chicken wings, soups, chillies, and on my corn chips. Probably my favorite way to use it is in my red beers, and on my hard salami. Sometimes when I'm desperate for some Tobasco goodness I just splash a few drops on my tongue. This is the best hot sauce on the planet. Enjoy!
