This hearing protector has a NPR of 27; excellent for plugs. They're great for when you're using a lawn tractor, lawn mower, gas string trimmer, vacuum cleaner, circular saw and most anything else of audible concern. They are comfortable as they do not insert in the ear canal; only block the entrance. They also last a good long time. Replacement plugs are available and it's a good idea to add an extra set when you purchase the band. The band goes under the chin when worn and the design keeps the plugs off a surface when you set it down. Tip: It's advantageous to use hearing protection at any age.

Not comfortable:
My wife and I each (independently) got these; neither of us find them comfortable enough to wear for long. They attenuate sound reasonably well, particularly higher frequencies. Voices are blocked less than I'd like, this meant it wasn't ideal for blocking out her TV watching, but the comfort was the real issue. I'm going back to the classic yellow earplugs, which I find much more comfortable.
