If you are new or old to cooking with cast iron you should have this book. It tells you how to take care of your cast iron as well as how to buy it, and then how to cook with it. I love it.

Cast-Iron for life!:
I love cooking in my cast iron cookware. It was hard to get use to at first, but I can't imagine not using it now. This book was very helpful with the basics of use, care and recipes. It was totally worth the money. The pancake recipe is very good! But you have to use a cast iron griddle to really do it well. I also make great Beef Stew using a cast iron dutch oven I purchased on Amazon Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned 5-Quart Dutch Oven with Loop Handles. Enjoy!

A good place to start:
I grew up with cast iron cookware in the house. My mother owned several pieces but it has only been in the recent months that I have developed a real appreciation for it. Regretfully, all of hers is gone including some classic Griswold pieces. If you know nothing of cast iron this is a good place to start. It's not comprehensive (Dummies books rarely are). If you are just getting started and want some good basic information, you can't beat this for the price.
