Added Bed Comfort:
So far as I am able to tell, the memory foam topper is a very comfortable addition to my present foam mattress, which is 8 years old and has a little give in it. Rather than purchasing a new mattress, I thought I'd give this a try and so far it seems to be doing the job and hopefully I won't have to purchase another mattress anytime soon. Though I received it several weeks ago, I've only used it for about a week. To give a really good opinion, I will have to sleep on it for a month or so to determine probable long term value. When I opened the package, I did see a very tiny tear on it, but didn't feel it was enough for me to go to the trouble to pack and return it for an exchange. Foam can tear easily and must be handled and packed with the greatest of care.

Cheap way to upgrade your mattress:
I bought this mattress pad a few weeks ago and am only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of the "newness" smell that others have written about. I let the mattress pad air outside for about 12 hours before putting it on the bed, but it still has the new smell (a few weeks later). It's not so bad that it's a hindrance, it's just obvious if you really try to smell it (I'm sure some Febreze would likely take care of the odor). The mattress pad itself is really comfortable. I feel like I have a brand new mattress and am sleeping really comfortably. This was a really good purchase. Caution however....when the foam pad is shipped, it's rolled very tightly then shrinkwrapped in plastic. The outside edges get kind of mashed together and hard. When I first opened it, I thought it was going to stay really mashed and hard and I'd have to return it, but after airing it out for several hours, the foam found it's softness and natural shape. Before putting it on the bed, let it expand to it's natural shape for a day or so (and try to do something about the odor). Just don't expect to take it out of the box and put it on the bed straight away.

its ok, but not that outstanding:
I've been having a problem with my new mattress for the past 6 months. I just moved to this new place early this year and decided to buy a mattress from ikea (which turned out to be so hard that I got a lower backache every morning). Reading lots of good feedbacks on this topper, I decided to give it a try. It makes my bed softer, but I don't think it helps much with my ache. I still don't feel like sleeping on a cloud or not wanting to get up in the morning or anything like that - slightly more comfortable but not therapeutic.

Good Night's Sleep:
I purchased this product for my mother who suffers with severe back pains. She has used this for a little over a month now and absolutely loves it. She is sleeping through the night and wakes up with almost no back pains.

Excellent buy:
I bought this for my mother, she had to stay in bed after surgery and I wanted her to be comfortable. she used this pad for a month and she loved it. Of course it is no substitute for the tempuropedic mattress but it is very decent.
