By Far the best I've Tried: Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat is by far the best top coat I've used. For years I was an OPI devotee, and I assumed it was best if I used OPI topcoat with their polish. Seche Vite, however, has provided a much clearer and glossier finish than any other top coat I've tried. Also, it does not nick once it gets dry. People tell me my nails look great all the time and they think they look professionally done. I think this is largely because of the glossy and clear finish I get from Seche Vite--though I will take credit for the years of experience, but a manicure or pedicure won't look professional no matter how good you are if you don't have a good top coat. I've noticed that if I use and older bottle of Seche Top coat that I'll be more prone to cracking of the top coat, but that's only if I happen to pick up a bottle that is over a year old. Just be sure to keep a fresh bottle on hand and close it tightly, and this should help extend the life of your top coat. As far as the one reviewer who complained of chips, perhaps the bottle of top coat she used was an old one. I'm not sure, but I do my own nails every week and don't have any problems with chipping (unless I'm doing hardcore work, in which case ANY polish would chip). If you're tough on your nails you may want to also use "chip skip," which is an OPI product. One final note, as top coats do, this one does tend to absorb some of your nail color. For instance red polish might tint your bottle of top coat a light red. If you don't always use the same color of polish, I'd recommend cleaning your applicator brush after using the top coat (with polish remover). Otherwise, next time you go to do a french manicure it might have swirls of red in it.
Quick to Dry, Quick to Chip: I'd read so many wonderful reviews of this product that I felt compelled to try it. I've ruined so many manicures by not giving the polish long enough to dry. Unlike some other reviewers (at various sites), I do not find it hard to apply Seche Vite. It almost instantly dries 2 or 3 coats. However, I can't even get 24 hours of wear out of my manicure before it starts to chip. This is not tip wear (my manicures generally last 3 days before tip wear heavily sets in), but actual chipping. I must be hard on my nails. BUT as a bridal party member, with no hand heavy activity, my french manicure had chipped by the next morning ... requiring me to use white out as an emergency cover-up. If you actually use your hands, I'd look elsewhere. I'm trying Creative Nail Design's "Air Dry" next.
Quick drying and beautiful gloss!: This is a wonderful product. You apply it over a wet coat, and it dries so quickly and gives you a great gloss that lasts a decently long time. Totally worth it.
DID NOT RECEIVED THE PRODUCT AT ALL: I have not received the product but have already being credit in my credit card. I sent an e-mail to the store requesting details of the shipment to track and never got reply. Do not recommend them.
Best Topcoat I have tried: I have used this product for years. 10 years ago when I started getting acrylic nails, my nail technician turned me on to this product. Now, I bring it with me to the salon. I don't get those annoying nicks from starting the car and buckling my safety belt! At home, it dries so well and so quickly, I can do my hands and toes a half hour before bed and wake up WITHOUT sheet marks on my nails the next day. My pedicures last tons longer than with other brands, which is a huge plus! I have found that after about a week or so, sometimes the top coat will start to peel. This, to me, is so minor compared with the overall performance. Also, it helps to buy the Seche Vite thinner, as sometimes the product gets a little goopy. The thinner works with any polish as well, and is definitely worth the extra money.
