Poor Substitute for Seedlander Flatbread:
It is undoubtedly a matter of taste, but I really wanted to enjoy the Dr. Kracker's Seedlander variety which are absolutely AWESOME (5-STAR)... but they were not availabe...and so the Seeded Spelt were ordered. Big Mistake: The flat taste of these particular flatbreads do not compare with the Seedlander, so the first bite told me I made a mistake in ordering them. But Amazon has been so generous in dealing with other issues, I decided to eat humble pie (crackers) and just quietly finish them up with soups or smothered in Almond Butter. Once and awhile treating myself to a bite of the seedlander bite size crackers product which we also ordered and were available at time of purchase. 5 STARS for AMAZON maybe a one star for the Seeded Spelt. AFTERTHOUGHT: Of course, I run the risk now of not having my favorites available if everyone rushs off to buy them up. Ah...such are the risks of reviews I suppose.
Vegan Organic Choice:
Vegan. Organic. Made with whole grain organic spelt flour. Super premium in a larger package. 8 crunchy flatbreads covered with beautiful organic sunflower seeds, organic sesame seeds, & organic flaxseeds per box. 110 calories per flatbread. You can put individual flatbreads in ziplock bags for portion control. Easily breakable for nibbles. The remaining ingredients are sea salt, organic spelt bran, yeast, and organic barley malt syrup. A great choice for those who prefer a lovely organic sunflower flavor note to the somewhat to the wilder & delicious organic pepita flavor note found on Seedlanders. Tasty:
These crackers are very tasty and hearty. I was looking for a cracker without flour, sugar, or corn. Though spelt is borderline flour, I took a chance. They stand up to any dip - they're very strong. I like the addition of the nuts. Ideally, I would like someone to invent a cracker made of beans or nuts, not of a grain. But until that happen, these are a good substitute.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT:
If you like crunchy, if you like hard flatbreads - these are for you! They're good with cheese, peanut butter or all by themselves. I eat them instead of chips. I've tried several different flavors, but prefer the Spelt. They are healthy, filling & satisfying. The seeds just add a little extra too. I highly recommend them.
Best cracker ever!:
I was turned on to these crackers by a friend who felled to tell me he had bought them on Amazon! Needless to say I spent months looking every where for them and finally asked him where he bought them. I keep my pantry stocked! Highly recommended!
