Tasty and fast!: I thought this was great with rice. THe package says it is two to three servings. Maybe for lunch, but for dinner, the entire package plus some rice was a nice size serving. The spices had a little slow heat behind them, but not overwhelming. This was perfect for the middle of my preferred spice range, mild to medium hot. Highly recommended!! :)
Especially tasty when Camping!: I found the Sherpa's Delight to be quite delicious. I also appreciated that it contained basic wholesome ingredients and no chemicals...and was so easy to prepare. This is one of those combinations of flavors that would taste particularly good, cooked outside after a day of hiking. (...those Sherpas are on to something.)
Bland, mostly beans, just okay: I bought this after reading all the glowing reviews. I love potatoes and bamboo shoots, so I thought I couldn't go wrong with this. However, this curry is like 70% beans. I should have read more carefully. It really feels like eating bean soup. If I get past the beans, it's not bad. Also, I expected more flavor. I usually use a small amount of curry for my rice, but for this curry I have to use more than 1:1 ratio curry to rice.
Vegan Natural Choice: Vegan. All natural ingredients. Great when served over organic rice. My favorite restaurants in Kathmandu, Pokhara, or around Annapurna didn't make this one, but I'm sure it can be found in Lukla. The bamboo pieces are like large water chestnuts. Give them a try. I add organic tofu for extra protein and serving size. Can also be served over organic pasta or toast. This review is out there for those for whom this makes a difference. Just okay: I've tried a lot of prepack curries from a few different companies, and this just isn't very tasty. My wife and daughter were also unimpressed. The peas and bamboo shoots have a very "stewed" texture, and the flavor, while hard to describe, was just weird.
