panasonic KX: I could not be happier, it solved all our problems great product one main center and a phone for my mom and my daughter. Thank you so much
Panasonics are the only phones I'll buy: It's a great phone. Still reading the instructions for it, but it's very user friendly and I LOVE the fact that it has a voice for the user ID. Once you get used to that, you can't own a phone that doesn't have it. With a loud family and a ton of junk calls (we have an at-home business) it's a great way to screen without having to look at the phone. Panasonics are very sturdy. The last one we had lasted for 7 years, with 2 kids throwing it and it's even gotten wet. It finally had it's last thow a month ago and kicked it.
Panasonic KX-TG5673B 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Three Handsets: Excellent product. Total satisfaction.
Nice but not with a headset: For the most part a very good phone. The talking caller ID is handy, as is the speaker phone capability in each handset. However, if you plan to use it with a headset you won't be happy. The microphone volume is so weak that you can't be heard when using a headset. There's a headset jack in the handset, but for all practical purposes this phone is not useable with a headset.
Panasonic KX-TG5673B 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Three Handsets: First, I bought this phone refurbished for about $70; I can't tell the difference, and I saved hundreds. That being said, the phone itself meets expectations for call clarity, features and design. Some of the offerings seem trivial, but will be of value for different users. For example, you'll see in other reviews that it can be a "pain" that the address entries must be copied from handset to handset (a very easy transfer you can do from your couch and one handset). If you have a couple of teenagers who don't care about YOUR contacts, and vice versa, its more of a convenience. The fact that I can turn off the ringer and have the antenna light up different colors based on who is calling seemed silly to me, but I suppose if I was sitting with a sleeping newborn I might appreciate not having to get up to see who was calling, and not having the loud ring. Ringer choices are limited to three, two of them sounding like a sound effect from Land of the Lost. Speakerphone clarity, both on the base and the handsets is excellent. Caller ID can be "trained" to know whether to include a "1", or the area code, or both, or, to omit all but the local numbers. Once you do it for a specific area code, all incoming calls are automatically amended to that format, so you can easily redial from missed calls. Another nice feature is that the "redial" captures more than the last number. You can erase any history of incoming or outgoing calls, either individually or in aggregate. If you're not somewhat technically oriented, the instructions to do all this may take a little effort, but I don't see how a reasonable person couldn't get through the instructions and customize the phone(s) to their liking. Overall, excellent phone. Can't say as it would be worth $400, but if you can get it cheaper, need (want) three handsets, you will be happy
