mouse failed: The mouse failed within a month or so. One of the reasons I bought this one is to have one less dongle. The dongle, by the way, is huge and blocks access to an adjacent USB port. I use the keypad less than I did my old wired one because it "goes to sleep" after a few minutes and requires two specific keystrokes to wake it up before you can enter data. If I had right side USB, I'd go back to wired.
Wireless Ten-Key: I have been using this wireless 10-key numberpad/calculator for about 2 months and would have say it's pretty nice. The pro's are that you can use it as a separate calculator and then just hit the send button to input your answer into a cell in microsoft excel. Another big pro for myself is the location of the backspace key (and the fact that it has one). Note that it is directly diagonal to the number 9 key and not one space higher like one of the other wireless 10-keys. I use a numberpad a lot and do a lot of traveling so it works great. Although there is one con about this item; If you don't use it for a certain amount of time (not sure the exact amount, maybe 10 minutes) it will shut off. You may forget that it shut off when you go to use it again and then soon after realize that you have to turn it back on and possibly have to hit the "NUM LOCK" key each time to make sure that you can enter your digits. Another con would be the bulkiness of the usb wireless piece that plugs into your computer. You will most likely have to remove it each time you pack up to travel (unlike my wireless mouse, see below) Also it comes with a small travel size mouse. I have not even attempted to use it though because I use the Logitech Nano wireless mouse, which I highly recommend. All in all it sure beats having the mess of a numberpad with a cord and having a separate calculator. Definately worth the buy.
Poor Quality: The mouse works fine. The keypad is pretty much crap. The rubber anti-skid things on the bottom came off the first time I used it and the plus and minus keys no longer work. I haven't even tried all of the keypads functions yet to see if they work, as I've only had it about 2 weeks. I'm returning it. I do like however, that both the mouse and keypad have an auto off feature after a short period of not being used.
Kensington wireless keypad & mouse: I purchased this for my daughter, a math professor, and she loves it. The keypad and pointing device on her dell laptop, leave a lot to be desired, and this set makes up for the inequities.
Good product: The Kensington Wireless Notebook Keypad and Mouse combo is an excellent product. The keypad has extensive calculator functions and both are excellent for anyone who has a laptop. The only disappointment was that the mouse is a bit small (about half the size of a regular mouse) - it would be well-suited for the hands of a child but is a bit clumsy in the hands of an adult. It's great that both products have an off feature which allows for extending the battery life. I highly recommend this product.
