Seasport RC tug:
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2KDCWWKUVMBOE This is my Seasport boat first time on the pond. It is totally stock. The sounds are WAV add ons to the video but if you want to invest in some hobby grade add ons RAM makes a porportional with throttle diesel and horn sound system that would easily fit in this hull with a hobby grade RC unit and electronic Speed control. It is a well detailed and well engineered and overly designed near scale model boat toy. My only structure modification was to break off the lock tab on the battery box so I did not need a screwdriver to change out the battery. With about $20.00 in LED and grain of wheat lights some tiny cloth flags on some string and with some 1/16 plastic rod stock you could really detail this tug to near museum quality. The TOY decals are really cheap and poorly designed not for this quality of near scale model. They scrape off well. Tug ran flawlessly out of the box has limits on power on rudder throw likely to keep from capsizing it on a hard turn. Note the significant roll or lean in the power turns. Upper superstructure rail detail was broke in shipping so I superglued it. Fire squirter system must be PRIMED before it will ever work. Also recommend a voltage meter check of all batteries condition and contact quality. I peak charge all NiCd and NmHi batteries on a battery conditioner. It is one neat tug boat and would be a real found treasure in the hands of a boat kitbasher model maker. Highly recommended I am scratch built/ kit hobby modeler since my youth in the 1950's so many decades ago . This is a toy grade RC model and really only requires an entry level skill set.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!:
I purchased this item for my 6 yr old son. When it arrived the box was damaged and the interior styrofoam was broken in places. Damage aside - for almost 80 USD I'd expect a lot better quality. This item would be a great example for all the people who believe made in China equates to poor quality - which from personal experience - is not always true - many products made in China are of excellent quality - but this is not one of them. The design is not very rugged, the battery is not in a watertight container and the radio control is designed for another type of toy - but they are using it to control this boat. We never got the item to run even - while the lights would come on - the propellor and steering would not work - I don't dare put this in water.

Tugboat review:
This tugboat is fun but is rather cheaply constructed, it doesn't float straight and the instructions for use are minimal, at best. While we enjoy playing with it, I would like for it to be a bit more durable. Also, the pump to shoot water out of the spout on the tower doesn't work.

Tub Boat Review:
Everything works well on the boat, the only thing I would change would be the turning radius.

Good looking, worth $ 50, unless.....:
...Unless it simply quits working. And that is what happened to mine. The steering servo mechanism came loose (off) of the rudder's post, and that up inside the boat. The steering servo, it turns out, was well up inside and against the very rear end of the boat, just underneath the deck. It would have probably been easy enough to rememdy--a slipped peg or rod, but ALL of the internal parts that make it go! are not accessible. This is because the hull and deck are of a solid one piece design; many tiny screws and glued together, both. It's put together tightly, which is good, but that plus is a big minus *for making it nearly impossible to even attempt a minor repair to anything inside it.* Only the battery compartment can be seen. Seen ! The boat needs careful ballast placement; it bobs, and it leans too hard from side-to-side in full sustained turns. It is, simply, top heavy with the derrick, cabin, and crane, and lifeboat, each up high. It's looks set it apart; this is it's selling point, I think. There really is nice detail that one usually cannot expect to find for 50 to 60 dollars. The water spraying feature worked quite well, and the water tank which fills up automatically does help to make the boat more stable. I had problems with the steering trim from day one. The rudder, for whatever screwy reason, really favored motion over to the left. So, therefore, it always had a weak turning ability to go to it's right. I would have given this rc boat a pretty rating, even all things considered, if it had simply continued to steer...at all ! Perhaps your model, should you buy one, will work for a long time, but it's a Who knows? proposition, it seems to me.
