Nice Addition to my Den:
This piece is a very nice addition to my den. We purchased an LCD TV that would not fit in our entertainment cabinet and I was concerned that I could not find a piece of quality for our den. This turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. We enjoy it everyday.

Great looking but cheeply constructed:
The following is a review of the TV stand that I purchased that details what I encountered with this TV cabinet. I would recommend this cabinet, but would also recommend not using the crappy snap lock hardware that they provide. This is a reasonable product. There were some alignment issues, but I was able to get my flat panel mounted well enough to feel it was secure. I would recommend this product. It is fairly attractive, well built and did meet most of my expectations. The shipper they used is very professional. As for the cabinet that it is meant to attach to, the product is also very attractive but is poorly constructed. The stand is suppose to bolt to the back of the cabinet, but the cabinet design uses some cheep press inserts that popped out the first time I tried to bolt the two together. I ended up gluing the fasteners in place. The cabinet is also assembled with some pretty crummy snap lock fasteners made from the softest metal on earth. Because of the poor quality of the hardware used to assemble this cabinet, I did not feel it would last 2 years before reverting back to a pile of flat boards. I ended up clamping and gluing the entire cabinet together. I am now mostly satisfied with the combination of the stand and cabinet.

Good product, but assembly required!:
I should have assumed this, but this cabinet is shipped unassembled. It is held together using those metal dowel fastener things that you often see on cheap bookcases. Once together, the piece is sturdy and very attractive. The wood veneers look wonderful and it has a first rate look and feel. But for the price, it would have been nice if it were crafted as a single furniture piece (and not held together by dowels). HOWEVER, the quality is excellent and the assembly process -- albeit time consuming -- was generally effortless. (On other build-yourself projects I would experience crooked or poorly aligned joints and fittings -- not so here. You can tell that the factory's QC process is first rate.) A few small nits about my assembly experience: -- The assembly instructions are legible but the sequence of the instructions isn't always the best. It helps if the assembler has some experience and can think around some poorly worded instructions. -- There are no extra hardware parts. If you strip a screw or over-tighten and bend a fastener, you'll be out of luck. That being said, the screws and fasteners were of the best quality I've seen for one of these "kits" and held together very well under my screwdriver. -- The packaging padding wasn't quite sufficient for shipping and two of the parts were slightly broken on arrival. I was lucky that they were internal and easily glued back together. -- The drawers are very light duty. On first go, one of the drawers didn't align with the opening, but I was later able to "cheat" some of the wood screws on the drawer to make it fit better. Now that assembly is completed, my family is going to enjoy this piece for some time. It looks great.
